Deconstructing of a star

Paloma Faith is a British pop/soul/jazz singer. Her music doesn't fit into the chosen genre of music for my magazine. However, she is a singer that I quite like at the moment. Plus I thought she'd be a good star to deconstruct because her style is quirky, some may say eccentric, but I rather like it.

Her signature style:
  • Bold, colourful clothing
  • Unusual accessories/outfits, e.g. fruit hat, american flag jumpsuit, hippo face on dress, big furry necklace, etc.
  • Long, curly, red hair
  • Can look really glamourous and sophisticated in some of her outfits

  1. I think you need to see the intertextuality of her image, as with so many post-modern artists who deliberately blend the past and present.
